these are my requirements For the FWP, you will compose a rhetorical analysis in the third-person point of view of your own writing in either Essay No. 1 or Essay No.2. You will examine the text closely and consider the main argumentative moves (which you have already labeled!), and apply the applicable questions on pg. 13/107 in our text, Inventing Arguments.

Note: You will refer to yourself in the third-person throughout the essay. For example:

In Essay No.2, Celine Brown (2021) states that the emotion of love is not always pleasant. She writes that “love is often painful in that it can cause someone to feel unrest, jealousy, and uncomfortable longing.”

If you reference yourself in a parenthetical:

“Love hurts is an understatement (Brown, 2021, pg. 1)

You should include your essay in a References page.

B. You will arrange your analysis rhetorically. See pgs. 131-132/107-108 to guide you. You only need to include those components you labeled and included (minus your thesis statement) in the essay you are analyzing.

Each analysis label above should be the start of a new paragraph. It is OK if you write more than one paragraph per label.

Note: Do not skip over “Articulation of new insights.” This is one of the most important tasks of your analysis. This is your opportunity to express anything new you have learned about your topic/argument through the analysis. While you may certainly include an evaluation of your writing here, you must also include insights you’ve gained about the argument/topic you wrote about in your chosen essay.
