NURS 475 TEACHING PLAN
Teaching is a valued part of nursing practice. Teaching occurs in many places and at many times through out our time with patients. Teaching can also occur in a classroom setting. We often find ourselves teaching several patients about the same subject ( esp child birth classes). We may also find ourselves teaching health issues to the general public . You need to be prepared to do this to expand your nursing practice.
Remember that teaching and learning are not the same thing. You, do the teaching, your audience does the learning. Teaching focuses on what your audience needs or wants to know . Learning focuses on the audience’s willingness and capacity to absorb the information you are presenting.
The NURS 475 Teaching Plan is a mandatory assignment. You must complete it at a satisfactory level to earn a degree of “PASS” for the course. You will be assigned a date to complete the plan. This is a written assignment only. You will not be presenting your plan to an audience. However you plan is to be constructed in a manner that would allow you to present it to an audience if an audience was available.
