According to the author, it is crucial to support cumulative cultural learning in childhood because understanding human culture’s complexity and distinguishing characteristics is vital in helping promote diversity and development. The variation and flexibility in how the caregiver socializes and how the children learn enhances our understanding of the cultural diversity among human beings. This begins with introducing the knowledge of diversity and the complex aspects of human culture through learning. The most common strategy for acquisition addressed in this article is imitation, which plays a significant role in facilitating effective cultural learning in children.

Identifying the resources is essential in facilitating the crafting of a goal that is effective and deciding which aspect of the problem to deal with first. Several methods can be used in identifying cultural needs and resources. The approach to use in identifying the resources and needs depends on the type of cultural community that one is concerned with, the financial resources that one aims to rely on in identifying the needs and the resources, the specific culture that one is focusing on, and the specific goal of wanting to identify the cultural resources and needs. The various methods can be used in identifying the needs of one’s culture, with one focusing on the individual needs and the other on the overall group of people in that particular culture. These methods are discussed below.
Observation
            Observation is an effective method that one can use in identifying cultural resources and needs in various ways. One way s by observing the behaviour of people in different social environments and identifying the elements that differentiate one culture from the other. From that information, one can establish the specific resources and needs that a specific group of people may need. This is the best way to get first-hand information and have a clear idea as to what the resources and needs are because they personally witnessed it. This observation can be done in different contexts to have a more comprehensive understanding of the necessary elements of that culture.
Cultural organizations
            Cultural organizations are a significant place for one to find information about the needs and resources of a specific culture. Cultural organizations focusing on a specific culture have a better understanding of the various diverse cultures. Some of these cultural organizations include libraries in schools and colleges, national libraries, non –specialized libraries, institutions for research and other organizations. These organizations provide a platform from which one can obtain all the information about the resources and needs of a particular culture by helping one understand the characteristics of that specific culture. They also give one a chance to explore the information about different cultures, identifying the specific improvements that need to be made and the resources that may be necessary for meeting the specific needs of the culture that one is interested in.
Education
Learning about a particular culture’s needs and resources is another effective method that one can use. The learning institutions contain people of diverse cultures and learning material that contain a lot of information about culture. Learning institutions provide a way through which one can interact with different cultures and get to understand and obtain first-hand information as to their resources and needs. Intercultural interaction is the only way to tell the difference between different cultures, understand what one culture has that the other does not and come up with clear outlines of what the resources and needs of every culture are. The learning institutions are a perfect place to conduct research on the various cultural resources and needs.
Importance of taking culture into consideration in teaching and learning
Considering culture in teaching and learning plays a significant role in helping the learners understand diversity and the importance of respecting the differences in people. This will be of great importance in helping enhance the perceptions of learners towards different cultures and improve their social interactions. Including culture in teaching and learning also helps the learners understand the various biases and aspects of marginalization that exist in society and how to avoid them. Being able to explore different cultures also helps the learners understand how different cultures do different things, from which they can acquire new knowledge and skills that can be beneficial in their social lives as they grow up (Kampen, 2019). The teachers and learners can also use the knowledge they acquire about culture to create significant positive change in society by improving interactions among people of different cultures through the sharing of the knowledge they learn to help others understand cultural diversity.
Considering culture is also essential in teaching and learning because it helps mould the behaviour of the learners at a young age by helping them understand how to be sensitive and mindful of their words and actions when interacting with other people (Mercer, 2018). It is also crucial that young people understand their own cultures and other indigenous cultures as knowledge may become handy as they grow up, especially when it comes to dealing with situations of conflict. The learners can use the knowledge they acquire about culture while they are young to influence positive organizational change in future as they can apply it in their work environments. For these reasons, I think teaching and learning institutions should promote cross-cultural teaching to ensure that both teachers and learners understand the various aspects of culture that exist beyond their own cultures.
