Introduction
Ea, the patron god influences his cult to spread throughout Babylon. According to the song of Kumarbi, Ea (trickster god) assists Teshub to split Ullikummi with a copper knife to become the new king.
Aim of the research proposal
The purpose of this paper is to find out how tricksters transform the world around them and in the process they become transformed themselves. The study will find out why Ea transpired to spread his cult to the Babylonians and its effects. In addition, this study will find out why Ea suggested Teshub to be given the copper knife in order to overthrow Ullukummi.
The Root Cause Analysis assists in identifying the cause of the problems in order to prevent undesirable outcome from recurring. Knowledge about the cause of an event assists in controlling future occurrence of similar events. This study will find out how Ea influences on the Babylonians cult later influenced him. Tricksters change the rules and they are powerful to reconstitute the rules and they later conform to the set rules. The study will determine the reason and how Ea(god) influenced the Babylonians to change their cult and its consequences to the Babylons culture.
The study will also find out why Ea (trickster god) suggests that Teshub be give the copper knife to split Ullukummi to become the new king. There is need to figure out beyond what happened and find out the reason behind Eas decision to assist Teshub. This study will identify the cause of Eas decision in the Song of Kumarbi according to the Hittite culture. Tricksters acts against social norms which brings cultural changes by acting as messengers of gods. Tricksters are boundary crossers who in turn becomes changed by their changes that they introduce to the people.
