Topic-  Customer Integration and Satisfaction
Change
To be considered substantive, your reply should add significantly to the discussion by building on others’ comments, pointing out similarities or differences in your backgrounds or course expectations, etc.  One or two sentence responses such as “Hi, welcome to the course!” or “I feel the same way” are not acceptable.
LITERATURE
Minimum of 250 words
Virginia wolfs The Mark on the Wall ((attachment below)
The forum for this week addresses the third learning objective:  Produce an original opinion based on assigned literature and the fourth learning objective: Discuss major literary movements in English literature from the 18th century to the present.
Select one of the assigned readings by Woolf or Mansfield or Wells and explain how it represents Modernism. The resources this week will help you develop a frame for your response; however, you may find it helpful to find outside information to assist in developing your response. Please be sure to use and cite direct evidence from the reading you select to support your claims.

Debate Group B
This week, I want to see that you understand geographical and economic analysis. Include geographical and economic analysis in your posts.
Debate Instructions:

You have been divided into two groups. Group A will support gradual emancipation position. Group B will support immediate emancipation. To participate in the debate, you need to research both positions. The required work will help you. Who will you be in the debate? Your character does not have to be an actual historical figure. You can be, for example, journalist, politician, teacher, a domestic servant or a sharecropper. Just make sure that you ground your analysis in academic sources and you demonstrate you have done all the required work by integrating it into your debate positions. Stay in character for your responses means if you say you are a certain name than each response should have this person’s name or that of the person your are corresponding with in each response is part of the debating. Also no modern day history facts should be used…in this debate Lincoln is still alive…meaning discussing the Emancipation Proclamation is not appropriate but the rumor of it can be discussed…remember the Emancipation Proclamation was a gradual emancipation document because it only freed slaves in the Confederate states but allowed Union states to still continue slavery.
Whatever you write should be in character. Be creative! Remember that everything you argue, although in character, must be grounded in academic research and must demonstrate you have done the required work.

Week 5 Forum: Paraphrasing and Using Direct Quotations
This forum has 2 parts, both of which ask for a signal phrase to introduce the source material.  Both parts require appropriate in-text citation.
Following the “sandwich technique” described in this week’s required reading, post a direct quotation from one of your sources as it would appear within the body of your research paper. Be sure that you introduce your quote with a signal phrase, provide some commentary for the quote, and include the appropriate in-text citations for your documentation style. Follow the source material with closing commentary or analysis to link it to your thesis/purpose.
Next, paraphrase the same quotation and use a signal phrase and closing commentary to demonstrate how the paraphrase would appear in your research paper; include an in-text citation in the documentation style you are using for your paper. Be sure to label which documentation style you are using and include the appropriate bibliography entry as the source will appear on your works cited, reference, or bibliography page.  It is best to avoid large block quotes for this assignment, since the goal is to integrate the quote into your writing.  Simply inserting a large, indented block quote does not necessarily demonstrate that integration skill.
