The choice to telecommute is personal and is usually driven by various factors such as; Awareness-related constraints, Misunderstanding, Organization-related constraints, Managerial approval, Job-related constraints, Psychological constraints, Household interaction problems, and Lack of discipline. There are other factors that drive the choice of commuting which include; Independence, Family-related drives, Leisure-related drives, ideology-related drive, Travel-related drives, as well as Mobility limitations. Telecommuting is a process that involves different parties like the employee, the employer, and the channel used, which are mostly technological devices. The environment telecommuting takes place is critical also and should be ensured that it does not change the mood and attitude of the employee.
There are different reasons why people do or do not telecommute. There are various reasons for this, such as; motivation to telecommute- the fact that telecommuting is an option is not enough to convince the employees; there should be motivation to the employees and convince them to change their working behavior.
