COMPONENT 1 (REFLECTIVE JOURNAL): 1,000 WORDS
(a) Choose a recognised leader who has global recognition for his/her leadership qualities and traits, demonstrated in managing changes,
e.g., improving lives of people/community/customers, helping them to overcome difficult situations, without compromising ethical and
moral values in dealing with issues.
(b) Discuss your motivation and demonstrate the key factors of the leader that brought changes in lives/community/business which
influenced your choice. The supporting statements on the leadership quality analysis should be evidence based with references.
(c) Choose a leadership role that you’ve played in the past and undertake a reflective analysis on your leadership/management style(s) or
experiences. You need to use any reflective model (e.g., Atkin and Murphy, Gibbs, Kolb, etc.) and relate this with your personal
experience. Your evaluations need to be influenced by the leader you admire (see point a above).
Note: You need to start this process with Week 1 Seminar activity – “Leadership in context” where you share your leadership experience
with your class. Also, reflect on the change of perception regarding leadership approaches from week 1 to week 12 (use the pre- and
post- module questionnaires).
