The ancient Hebrews also originatedin this region of the ancient Middle East, while another great first civilization emerged in northern Africa, Egypt the “Gift of the Nile.” Both the Mesopotamians and Egyptian civilizations are often referred to ascradles of civilization. Each successive civilization made significant contributions to the world, but did any one group contribute more?
