assignment 1 design a steel residential villa. The layer of deck sheets are to be used in
construction of the steel villa. The slab is made of Reinforced Cement Concrete (R.C.C).Consider
live/variable load on slab as 3 kN/m2 and unit weight of reinforced concrete as 24 kN/m3
.
Consider the brick wall on beam as 210 mm thick and 3 m in height. Take density of brick wall
as 1900 kG/m3
. Make suitable calculations for steel design of the members according to
Eurocode 3. Assume any other suitable data wherever necessary in order to complete the
following tasks.
1. Design any 1 interior steel beam wherein 2 slabs are resting on it for ultimate limit state
following the Eurocode 3. [15 marks]
2. Design any 1 exterior steel beams wherein 1 slab is resting on it for ultimate limit state
following Eurocode 3. [10 marks]
3. Design any one interior column wherein 4 beams are resting on it for ultimate limit state
following Eurocode 3. [15 marks]
4. Design any one exterior column wherein 2 beams are resting on it for ultimate limit
state following Eurocode 3. [10 Marks]
